Rental Terms
GENERAL VEHICLE RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms form an integral part of the Vehicle Rental Agreement entered into between TSIMPLIS RENTALS, hereinafter referred to as the “Lessor”, and the person named in the Rental Agreement as the renter, hereinafter referred to as the “Renter”.
By signing the Rental Agreement, the Renter declares that they have read, understood and accepted the following terms.
- AGE LIMIT AND DRIVING LICENCE
The driver must be at least 21 years old and must have held a valid driving licence for at least one (1) year before the start date of the rental.
The driving licence must:
- remain valid throughout the rental period,
- correspond to the category of the rented vehicle,
- be legally valid in Greece.
The Renter and every additional driver must present a valid driving licence and a valid identification document.
TSIMPLIS RENTALS reserves the right to refuse delivery of the vehicle if the above requirements are not met.
- AUTHORISED AND ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
The vehicle may only be driven by persons listed in the Rental Agreement as authorised drivers.
The vehicle may not be entrusted to any third party who has not been declared or approved.
The charge for each additional driver is €5 per day, unless otherwise stated in the booking or Rental Agreement.
If the vehicle is driven by an unauthorised driver, optional coverages and limitations of the Renter’s liability may not apply, in accordance with the terms of the insurance policy.
- PAYMENT METHOD
Payment for the rental may be made by an accepted credit or debit card or by another payment method previously approved by TSIMPLIS RENTALS.
VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS cards are accepted, provided they are supported by the company’s payment system.
Depending on:
- the vehicle category,
- the selected insurance coverage,
- the payment method,
- and the specific terms of the booking,
TSIMPLIS RENTALS may require payment or pre-authorisation of a security deposit.
The exact amount and method of payment of the security deposit are communicated to the Renter before the start of the rental.
- BASIC RENTAL CHARGE
The basic rental charge covers a period of twenty-four (24) hours, calculated from the agreed vehicle pick-up time.
The basic price includes:
- 24-hour roadside assistance,
- compulsory third-party liability insurance,
- 24% VAT.
Unless otherwise agreed, the basic price does not include:
- fuel,
- tolls,
- fines,
- parking charges,
- additional equipment,
- additional drivers,
- optional insurance coverages,
- towing costs resulting from the Renter’s fault or negligence,
- other additional services selected by the Renter.
- OUT-OF-HOURS DELIVERY AND RETURN
Vehicle delivery or return outside the official business hours of TSIMPLIS RENTALS is available only by prior arrangement.
An additional charge of €15 applies for out-of-hours service.
An out-of-hours return is not considered complete merely by handing over or leaving the keys at an agreed location. The vehicle remains the responsibility of the Renter until it is actually received and inspected by a representative of TSIMPLIS RENTALS, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- DELIVERY OR RETURN OUTSIDE OUR PREMISES
Vehicle delivery or return within Kyparissia is free of charge, unless otherwise stated in the booking.
For delivery or return outside Kyparissia, a charge of €1.50 per kilometre may apply.
The exact charge is communicated to and agreed with the Renter before the service is provided.
- EARLY RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
In the event of a voluntary early return initiated by the Renter, amounts corresponding to the unused rental period are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
This term does not apply in the same manner where the early termination of the rental is due to a proven mechanical breakdown of the vehicle for which the Renter is not responsible.
- LATE RETURN
TSIMPLIS RENTALS provides a grace period of one (1) hour after the agreed return time.
If the delay exceeds one (1) hour, TSIMPLIS RENTALS may charge one additional rental day.
The Renter must inform the company before the agreed return time of any expected delay.
Any extension of the rental is valid only after prior approval by TSIMPLIS RENTALS and is subject to vehicle availability.
Keeping the vehicle beyond the agreed rental period without approval does not constitute an automatic extension of the rental.
- FUEL POLICY
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the time of pick-up, as recorded in the Rental Agreement and/or vehicle condition report.
If the vehicle is returned with more fuel, TSIMPLIS RENTALS is not required to refund the difference.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the Renter must pay the cost required to restore the fuel level to the level recorded at delivery.
- INCORRECT REFUELLING
The Renter must refuel the vehicle only with the correct type of fuel.
If the vehicle is refuelled with the wrong fuel, the Renter must immediately switch off the engine and contact TSIMPLIS RENTALS.
The Renter is responsible for the actual and documented costs resulting from incorrect refuelling, including, but not limited to:
- fuel drainage and disposal,

- transport or towing of the vehicle,
- repair of any damage caused by the use of incorrect fuel.

The Renter receives the vehicle in the condition recorded in the Rental Agreement, the delivery and return report and/or photographic or digital records. The Renter must inspect the vehicle at pick-up and report any visible damage or missing item that has not already been recorded. By accepting the vehicle, the Renter confirms its recorded condition.
- INSPECTION UPON RETURN
The condition of the vehicle is inspected upon return. If the vehicle is returned outside business hours or under conditions that do not allow a full and safe inspection, including insufficient lighting or excessive soiling, the final inspection may be carried out later. If new damage is identified, TSIMPLIS RENTALS must inform the Renter and retain relevant supporting evidence.

Pets may only be transported with prior notice to TSIMPLIS RENTALS and provided that the animal is transported safely. The Renter is responsible for any damage or special cleaning required as a result of transporting a pet. A small amount of pet hair does not automatically result in a charge if no special cleaning is required.
- TYRES, WHEELS, WINDOWS AND UNDERBODY
The Renter must use the vehicle on suitable roads and avoid actions that may cause damage to tyres, wheels, windows or the underbody. Whether such damage is covered depends on the selected insurance package and the terms of the relevant insurance policy. Insurance coverage during sea transport applies only to the extent and under the conditions provided by the vehicle’s insurance policy.
